Enerin wins 2026 ONS SME Innovation Award

Enerin AS was named winner of the Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) SME Innovation Award at the international Forum held in Stavanger, Norway. Hitachi Energy received the Innovation Award designed for large companies.

Both Enerin Co-founder and Head of Concept Design, Trond-Atle Asphjell, and Enerin CCO, Ralph Groen, pitched Enerin’s high-temperature heat pump technology to the jury and audience. The winners were selected from a record-high number of applications in 2026, according to the ONS Foundation.

Norway’s Minister of Energy, Terje Aasland, presented the SME Innovation Award to Groen, at the award ceremony. Groen congratulated the entire team for this recognition, singling out Enerin CEO Arne Høeg's visionary direction.

Asphjell, said after the event:

“It was a great opportunity to have a few minutes during ONS to explain to Norway’s Minister of Energy how Enerin’s industrial heat pumps — capable of co-generating process cooling and heat in the range of minus 60°C to 250°C — can be a major part of the solution to the challenges of electrifying Norwegian industry and the capacity constraints in the power grid.”

All details can be found in our press release including the pre-event pitch video led by Enerin CCO.

Decarbonised and electrified solutions for industrial heat and cooling remain an international priority due to extreme weather and climate events witnessed in 2026. This comes as Copernicus and other global datasets confirmed that July 2026 ranked among the hottest months on record since 1850.

“Getting recognition from this jury and audience is a very strong vote of confidence for the technology Enerin is developing. The competition was strong, and we were honoured to be part of the finalists, and proud to be the winner”.

“This is only possible because of the visionary direction and persistence of our CEO Arne Høeg, and the strong teamwork of all our employees, investors, and partners. Receiving the award is a big shout out to whole team,” he said.
