Ultra high-temperature heat pumps
Industrial heat contributes about one tenth of the global CO2 emissions. A significant share of this heat can be supplied by ultra high-temperature heat pumps, such as Enerin´s HoegTemp. Enerin´s unique, patented technology and experience makes it possible to supply industrial heat up to 250°C, with market leading efficiency and performance.
Customer perspective
Pelagia AS is considering using Enerin's unique high temperature heat pump when planning new fishmeal factories. They want to stop using oil and gas powered steam boilers to become more energy efficient and sustainable.
The “HoegTemp” seems promising as reliable and energy-efficient heat pump that is able to deliver process heat with as high a temperature as we require," says Product and Process Developer Ola Flesland at Pelagia AS.
“If a high-temperature heat pump is operated on electricity from renewable energy sources, the CO2-footprint from fishmeal and fish oil production would be reduced to a minimum”, Ola Flesland says.

Benefits
European industry uses vast amounts of energy on process heating between 100°C and 250°C. This heat can be generated by HoegTemp ultra high-temperature heat pumps, that recycle waste heat to save up to 2/3 of the energy consumption
Enerin and Western Norway University College conducted a study in 2019, showing that the Norwegian sea food industry can save up to 65% of the heat consumption of approximately 1 TWh with a combination of high-temperature heat pumps and other energy efficiency measures.
Similar results can be expected in other industries
CO2 reduction, energy efficiency, return on investment, reduce footprint
Process heat and steam, up to 250°C, with industry-leading efficiency
Our patented solutions for heat exchange and sealing ensure industry-leading thermal efficiency and high COP
Technology
Our patented technology allows higher output temperatures and higher COP at high temperature lift, than other heat pump technologies can achieve. Our helium heat pumps are future-proof, as we use helium as a refrigerant.
Helium is an inert gas that is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-corrosive, and has zero global warming potential (GWP) and ozone depletion potential (ODP).
