Europe’s transition to clean energy took the spotlight on 23 September as innovators in the heat pump sector were celebrated at the 2025 Heat Pump Awards where Pelagia AS and its partners Enerin AS and Aneo Industry were given the DecarbIndustry Award.

Enerin’s HoegTemp heat pump sits downstream from the Aneo Industry installation at the Pelagia Måløy, fish processing site in Norway. Details of the Enerin installation can be found at the bottom of this story.

Opening the ceremony, Paul Kenny, Director General of the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), emphasised the value of real-world achievement:  “Nothing speaks louder than success, and tonight, we celebrated the projects proving that heat pumps are reliable, efficient, and making a powerful impact across Europe.”

Presented by Martina Battocchio, EHPA’s EU Projects Officer and Awards lead since 2024, the evening honoured excellence across five distinct categories.

The DecarbIndustry award, introduced by Jury member Thomas Fleckl, Head of Competence Unit Sustainable Thermal Energy Systems at the Austrian Institute of Technology, was given to fish processing company Pelagia AS and its partners Aneo Industry and Enerin.

Their project in Måløy, Norway, demonstrates how fishmeal waste heat can be turned into green process energy, decarbonising industrial steam production. The award was accepted by Christian Schlemminger, Chief of Operations at Aneo Industry.
