Combining our experience within chemical-free water treatment, with performance monitoring with Thermonitor, WaveClean uses a combination of ultrasound, pure water, heat and pressure, to prevent fouling of sea water heat exchangers, and clean heat exchangers, without the use of chemicals. Thermonitor documents the performance of the heat exchangers, and controls the cleaning. WaveClean was developed with funding from Innovation Norway.

Norway's largest producer of pelagic fish products has chosen WaveClean to reduce costs and environmental footprint for heat exchanger maintenance.
“Usually, we have to CIP-wash the plant with chemicals three times a year to remove marine fouling in the seawater plant. With this ultrasound solution, we can reduce our chemical efforts to a maximum of once a year”, says Chief Technology Officer Arnt-Ove B. Kolås at Pelagia AS.
He estimates the real cost to be halved, in addition to the very positive EHS impact.
