R&D experience

IOur engineers are recognized experts within high-temperature heat pump research, with 8 published papers on the stirling-cycle heat pumps, including the process design, detailed mechanical design and drawings, as well as documented performance figures.

Our engineers have participated in 6 large R&D projects for heat pump technology, together with Institute for Energy Technology (IFE), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Teknova, Carnegie Mellon University, Aalto University, Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology (Treteknisk) and Sintef, with funding from the EU and the Research Council of Norway, as well as many smaller R&D projects. Kvalem has been lead engineer for several major R&D projects for truck engines with Volvo Trucks.

Our engineers have also been granted patents for several advanced bearing and sealing solutions for steambased heat pumps, as well as other technologies.
