Enerin heat pump installation at Roche Switzerland
Enerin AS has signed a contract with Roche Switzerland to supply a V12 HoegTemp high-temperature heat pump (HTHP) totalling 1.2 megawatts to the Roche Basel/Kaiseraugst site located in Basel.
The industrial heat pump, due to be installed in the first half of 2026, will provide reliable, energy-efficient high-temperature heat and cooling with zero emissions.
Enerin AS industrial heat pumps operate across a wide temperature range of -30ºC to 250ºC, and can lift temperatures within that range in a single step to produce steam or hot water.
The installation will produce year-round steam delivery using multiple heat sources for the company’s chemical processes. This will maximise uptime and the return on investment through continuous, flexible operation.
High-pressure steam will be generated at 6 bar pressure with a delivery temperature of 171°C.
During summer, the machine will use waste heat from a cooling circuit at 30-40°C, whereas cold, ambient river water (2-4ºC) will be used in wintertime. The Enerin HoegTemp V12 HTHP will achieve the temperature lift from 2°C to 171°C in a one-step process.
Enerin’s commercial installation at the Roche site aligns with the Swiss company’s advancement towards the integration of regenerative energy solutions that target reductions in energy and resource consumption.
